CNY COMING AGAIN

Before proceeding, reviewing where I have step my foot on a certain country soil.
1. Sri Lanka
2. Cyprus

These two countries weren't expected that I will visit, though it was a work project.

2011 has just passed 14 days, and I hardly can follow my resolution.. Well, I guess once you got into commitment, either financially, or in a relationship, we will feel like we have something to lose.

Chinese New Year is around the corner again, definitely same questions will be directed to me, you know la. But I guess this year will be a bit different and tiresome, something that I didn't expect and prepared, relatives from other country will be visiting. It's almost 20+ years I have not seen them.

Realizing I wasn't as competent that I used to be makes me miss my friends a lot.
People change, you never know.

An Adult Life

When I'm a kid, I wish to be grown up as soon as possible. Why?
Reasons:
1. Freedom
2. No supervision
3. Own Life
4. No commitment (Assumption during that time)
5. Do anything I want
6. Independent
7. Can do anything I want.

In reality, these are only the perception of a naive mind. Sometimes, do miss my childhood, but the people who do great things don't live at the past, they look forward, and sky up.

Time flies, instead of create one year blueprint of my goal, this time I should set it 5 years to implement.

Time just flies, again and again we realized. When we realized the time just flew, we're looking back a while. Looking at the things we have done, the cheerful moment that have passed. Also the decision I made, sometimes foolish but unthinkable.

Sometimes I ask myelf, how can I be in programming field? I know I shouldn't be, it just doesn't make sense. All depends on the decision I'm going to take next. When life gives us lemons, make a lemonade.

Love Never Fails.

I have listened to the song sang by Chris Medina before but I have never know there's a story behind until I watch him auditioning in American idol.

Believe me, I sympathized when I know that his fiancée had an accident two months before the wedding day and causes brain damage. This guy, continue to has faith, and keep his words despite all the difficult circumstances, I ask myself, will I ever do that? How many will do? How many will walk away then? I tell myself I wanna be the one that never walk away.

This guy has shown an example on keeping his words despite the odds in the coming future, and I would certainly learn one thing, that's called faith and love.

And I cried and inspired when I watched What Are Words by him, so beautiful and touching.

But definitely, when there's true love, despite all tough situations, love will still prevails. May God bless you.

Unforgettable Nightmare

I better blogged this ridiculous one of the lifetime nightmare experience. It actually happened on last night, May 5th, and guess what, it is ridiculous. Here goes!

Yesterday night I was eating almond nuts, a gift from someone special. Actually, only few lefts. After hanging my laundry which I waited for the washing machine for almost 2 hours, I finally can have some sleep, with a bit full in my stomach due to the almond nuts.

And the nightmare began (I dunno how it started):

Suddenly I was in a hospital/clinic, some place like that. The doctor announced I was 3 months pregnant. And I said, "This is simply impossible! How can I ever be pregnant? I'M A MAN!"

So I rebelled, with my stomach full, going to another hospital clinic, to check again. AGAIN, the doctor announced that I'm pregnant too! I feel like, OMG, how is this possible? Then the doctor said, through scientific evidence and discovery, it is possible for a man to get pregnant. Another hospital/clinic, still the same! And I was.... WTH!!!

The moment I woke up, my stomach still feel full, and somehow I'm relieved I'm back to reality.
So guys, don't take supper before you sleep, or anything that makes you full before you sleep.

We have arrived to almost the midyear of 2011, and in conjunction to there, everyone of us have gone through few UPS and DOWNS in this world, just like a roller coaster.

Thank God, after a few months, I've got confirmed. Received a confirmation letter and also an insurance coverage medical card. Not easy... really really not easy, and I thank God for what has been given to me and a great encouragement from my loved ones, my family, friends, etc etc.

Whatever your vision is, don't give up. When there's a vision, fight for it.

Ubuntu 10.10 and easytether shortcut

uch a long time that I have abandoned this blog. Nevertheless, I am writing again, that's what I do best : WRITE & SPREAD!Few days ago I have just format my trusty laptop which previously using Linux Mint 8 and installed it to Ubuntu 10.10, and gues

s what? A lot of previous apps that I needed now is able to run excellently on it, examples?----> ppstream, VisualBoyAdvance, Cairo-Dock(with OpenGL), DropBox, and everything cool and free! And I wouldn't say stable (but more stable than the Windows apps), due to every creations of human isn't perfect.

Ok, my true objective I am posting this blog:

To make easytether shortcut be easily connected with a single click.

What is easytether? Smartphone users should know, making USB connections from Mobile Network to Laptop/PC possible.

Here's the Steps (FOR HTC Androids ONLY):

1. Turn on easytether from the phone

2. Turn on USB Debugging mode

3. Connect the phone to the USB, and make sure you select either one of the connection either charge on as external disk, else, it will connect as only USB connection.

On the Ubuntu part:

(I have been searching around and modifying bash commands around the forum and found a way to solve the headache)

1. if you know how to user terminal, that's great, but if you don't, use a text editor to enter the code in this picture.

2. Save it as anyname you like to use easytether for connection. E.g. Connect.

3. Change the properties to executable.

4. Create a directory and place it, E.g My 'Easytether' directory in the desktop as you can see here.

5. Fyi, remember to change the HOME variable directory, to yours, not mine. :-D Don't say I never tell ya!

6. Make a of the Connect file and place it in the desktop. Click it and press Run. At first it will prompt for your user password, once done, you're connected.

7. Any comments, drop me comments. TQ!

The day where I am able to breakthrough totally, out of my ownself after regaining strength from Him. Sometimes we are too bothered on how people looking on us, how people will judge us when we ask or etc etc.

This strength comes no other than the omnipresent One. Giving my heart peace and wanted to do all things well, but I must say, I need to have more self-control over the things on the net. A lot of distractions like Facebook, e-mail, wikipedia, thestar, themalaysianinsider... which spontaneously attract me to read most of the times out of my sponge absorption ability of my brain.

Everyday we hope for a breakthrough, talk is cheap, it isn't easy. The problem is, are you willing to pay the price?

I realized there are a lot of parameters that I need to set, PLSQL suddenly have to be popped up for usage! And even .net application to debug it. Somehow, unable to plug the VTS to the application, due to the bugs, and parameter setting that is in the database.

Sigh*... lots of things I really don't know. Thank God I have a friend that willing to help, but I'm afraid that is still not enough for my progress, as everything is like 'independent'.

Self-Performance Job Review

I have figured out to used this blog as a self-evaluation and performance review on my daily job basis, so that I may remember and remind myself which particular area that I need to improve.

My first project in my current company, I failed, and I want to review myself. Sounds like putting pressure on myself, you can said so.

The reason failed:

1. Shyness to ask

Why?

i) The current condition in the office : Everyone is busy and assigned with a project.

ii) Dare not call to the Project Manager as some of them are from other countries.

Things to improve and mentor advice:

i) It's ok to ask, every senior is busy but they are willing to help, don't keep quiet to yourself and assume you know, some documents look simple, but there might some different structure from what it is explain in the the documents.

ii) Do homework and analysis studies first before asking as everyone is assigned with a project, surface questions comes with surface answers.

iii) Ask the project manager and leader to get the details of the project because they are the people who knows the information of the project totally.

iv) Learn from mistake.

2. Skills

I cannot reveal the information of the company stuff but I can tell the skills that I need to gain.

i) Configuring and understanding the whole product, it is easy, and different product version has different configuration, so remember to do the homework before asking for help, so the people around can easily solve the problem.

ii) PL/SQL command

iii) Oracle

For ii) and iii) I need to gain the skills to know the command.

I failed my first project, and I learned a lot, found a way not to fail!

Resolutions 2010: Achieved And Not Achieved. (Review)

I have wrote that I need a change this year. And it did happened, a few points of it.

Here are the points that are achieved.

1. Growing in numbers and quality in SWAT group.

2. Change job with a better salary to bless the family of God.

3. More to learn in the job as well.

4. Own private room.

Achieved but slacked off.

1. Discipline in cleanliness. (ARGH) Slack off started from September!!

2. Physical fitness reducing the diameter of the tummy. (Man, I have to be accountable to myself)

3. Quiet time. (I'm accountable to Him, so don't judge me, I know!)

Not achieved and impossible to achieve at current state.

1. Taking a course to improve in my skills (The course that I wanted to take have been closed due to time)

2. RHCE cert (superbly expensive)

3. Travel to other countries.

Achievable but not yet achieve.

1. Joining a poli..cal party.

2. Buying a house.

It's been three years. Time flies, looking back all those days, how a 'naive' guy learned the world from the world of I.T. Seems like the days are going faster and faster nowadays where time seems to be limited.

I have never posted how my working desk looks like, and now here it is. Messy huh? You haven't see how the server room works yet! You don't want to see the way I stress out working last time.

I have learned a lot here. This is where I learned politics from my ex-senior :P. As well as my good boss(can't find this type of boss anymore, anyway, it is how we want to relate to a person) who taught me a lot as well, and my colleagues as well. When I'm free, I'm free, when I'm busy, I'm dead busy.

The thing is, sometimes it's nostalgic when you realized that you're going to leave and hopefully for a greener leaf. No one knows anyway.

It's about time to say "Goodbye". ;-) Wishing all the best to you.

Nice picture eh? Was done by a friend. He's good in photography. We played beachball while we went Kuantan for mission suport. The place we stay is at Teluk Cempedak, the early of this year, before I retrieve my new car to bring to KL. There are rented place where you can stay beside the beach.

Inside the picture, I was the one in green, which fell off to the ground after trying to tackle the ball. The red one was Adam, the one in black is Charles and the pink shirt was Charles. They have the same English name "Charles", but they are two different individuals. Not to be confused :P The photographer and editor: Robin.

Oh ya, that's my old car, now it's gone. I wonder where has she been. Picked up a lot of memories with this car last time. Those who knows, maybe it reminds you of something?

Few days ago, my car was burglarized, backseat window was removed, and smashed onto the ground. My laptop bag was stolen at the Kelana Jaya "Ming Tien" food court there. Nothing expensive was lost, except my bag(of course), my faithful black-white-box-collar shirt, my office pants, mp3(the most expensive price tag that is in the bag) and my company access card and office keys. It was raining heavily that time, which leaves behind opportunities for burglars. I have to pay quite a sum of money to replaced it with a new window. Hm... it leaves me no space to tell how good the food was at Ming Tien. I ate curry fish-head with rice. Well, compare to the real curry fish head, it loses a 35% of the mark I gave to the nice curry fish head dish. Lesson learned, don't assume and remember to take your bags from your car.

I'm now in charged of restructuring a website, but it seems like there is a lot of un-unified communication somewhere.... makes me flabbergasted in some point.

This Friday(30th July) will be last at my current company. I wonder what's next? Time flies, and it seems like all my friends around me are changing job as well. 5 months to go 2011.

GPS

Yeap. FYI, I bought the GPS last week. Here's the picture.

Bought it for below RM600 at KLCC. Low Yatt can be cheaper, but I do not have time to go there somehow.

The reason I bought this Garmin:

1. Not to waste time to get lost.

2. Bad experience with smartphone GPS which seems not practical, and it's delay time.

3. Not so practical with either Google Map or Google Earth as well, for me which sometimes I missed the turn (blame me for it!)

4. Good investment.

5. Cleared up my initial need for a smartphone. Don't even need one, where you still have to pay for the service.

Pros: Map is free, update of the map is free, you need to download it from the internet. You can save the place where you have been to before, of course taking a new road to arrive at a certain place faster. Can be charge using USB to mini-usb connector and given with a car-charger kit. Fast satellite signal detection.

Cons: Have to buy separate charger, which cost RM90 above.

So far, everything is good, except that I haven't update the map yet due to the budget constrain for this month is RM600 and below for the GPS.

Such a long time I didn't update this blog. Sometimes, I think I post too much nonsense out of my mind. (That's true, can't be denied).

I am now armed with a digital camera and a GPS (Garmin Nuvi 1250), and things will start to get it out. Will update the features and how am I going to use it next. Going to add in more pictures, and going to fun places that I wanna to be~~

The Disastrous Manipulated Economy

If there is someone closed to you who got into trouble with the police and have to be locked up, the slightest penalty will be called a 'bail-out', which means to pay the fine to be exited from the lockup. So as the economy grows, it gets much complex as well. Economy is all about people. Where there is people, there is 'demands', therefore there will be profits. To summarize it, no people, no demands, no profit. But when things aren't smooth, generating false income is the solution. Is it a scam or just a 'beautification'? Even people who make a scam business earned millions! Where are the integrity, transparency and accountability to the investors? Personally, these things are not easily justify by the minors, because it involve numbers and sectors, that's why we need more highly skilled people to define the current situation we are now in.

I have just sold off my unit trust,(PB Balance and Growth) enough is enough I must say, but will still aware of any opportunities if I see one.

Debt is always a big mistake if we don't calculate our own personal net worth before pursuing one person's wants. That is an erroneous thing I have ever come up with, that's why before borrowing money from a large institution, one have to consider his/her own financial capability. Nowadays, people loan money from the institutions, but never pay back, this as well may bankrupt the government effort to build strong strategical economy. In other words, the term for is called 'bubble'. Bubble seems nice when it gets bigger and bigger and bigger..... and yet.. poof*~~ everything's gone. So beware when you're borrowing money from the loan institution, this is not a joke. Mankind fails to learn that, mankind create money to be in debt. Our government somehow is too lenient previously on the study loan previously I must say. If you can't pay back the debt... never ever get in debt. You're just causing a next crash, in a slow manner. Well, of course in certain things, we have to depends on larger institution to get into debt to buy something, but first, look at our own capabilities first. Prudent is the keyword for it.

The rich does not keep their money itself as currency, they put it in assets. That is why, even they are in debt, their assets can always cover up for them. Either in business, etc etc. You name it.

Everything on earth on what we want, is actually a liability. Try defining what I meant. Some people invest to earn lots of money but failed (called that gambling, because of just want to earn money without investigating). True people invest because they see a good system that is able to provide benefits to the people, as well of course generating 'profits'. True, business is about profits. How can you claim you're making a good deal out of a business when you're losing money?

These are my personal view on today's economy. It always go round. Greed never ends. In the end, the perspective about money, what do you actually want to use it for? You're the master of the money, whereas the money is actually just neutral. Discard your wants, and look at your needs.

This year just buzzed like a light rampage into a dimension where time manipulates the forward vector which is a must (forgive me, I don't even know what I'm bragging about). To abbreviate further, time flies. It's already mid of May 2010 and here is what happened recently. (From January until May 2010)

1. Got my car in the January, and brought it down to KL from my hometown which was a process of rebating the trusty old Proton Saga to a newer version. (Slave to car loan debt. The bright side? I'm paying less than the others, and also nice radio and comfort than the previous one).

2. EPF finally impressed me last year with it's divident of 5.65%.

3. Tendered my resignation in January, but retracted at March, due to insufficient fund, because in the need of relocating to a new rental place.

4. Finally just realized my relative's house is just near my church at PJ!

5. One colleague bid farewell and went on to a new job.

6. One church bro went to Singapore.... well... seems like I lost a peer... and... FOOTBALL WATCHING MATE!

That's it for now. There are few situations which currently I'm not ideally to post now. Anyway, it's a good news in terms for career, but do not know what it will be in the future, but I do know it's tough, therefore it's time to re-discipline myself.

Price of every property is going up nowadays.

Investment ROI 2009

Well, I'm writing these through the experience I just gained from last year's investment. There are things I wanted to show regarding the product of investment I invested in, and all these are Unit Trusts.

1. PB Growth Fund

I invested starting from RM1000 with service charge of 5.5% which makes RM945 with the unit price at (13th March 2009) RM0.6075 per unit, now (9th April 2010) RM0.8672 per unit. It was just before few hours before the newly promoted 5th PM took in charged and announcing the plan to install that current economic situation. Just for your info, I paste this picture along. Anyway, I manage to earn more than what I placed in FD. There are a few top-up as well along the way. Note* PB Growth Fund is an Intermediate Risk Fund.

2. PB Balance Fund (Low Risk)

13th March 2009 , price per unit 0.7040

9th April 2010, price per unit 0.8764

3. PruLink Equity Fund where the current price is 2.7692 which is bought along the investment link insurance.

4. Last two years ago for those have applied for 8% EPF payment, is a big mistakes, and now they are calling those to re-ammend again. EPF have achieved 5.65% rate last year. Mine remain 11%.

Gold is still a choice, but now it is kind of expensive for the Selling Price compare to Buying Price which Public Bank charged around RM5 per gram... :S

Well, what it says around about Unit Trusts are all about track records and the fund manager involved. Public Bank have a good track records, on Unit Trusts, but be sure you know what you're investing. These yield a better FD% return rate, and to take note the current economic situation if going to invest. It takes common sense to invest, not greed.

Doing homework for shares and property nowadays. Well, feel free to share your experience how you earn your profits while the economics are uncertain during that time. :)

Current Thoughts

Hardly believe, it's already March now. Well, time and tides wait for no one. Since the commence of this year, I have longed for changes in my career, to improve my finance, and also to gain exciting thrill; challenges in other word -just like in the movies. Nah, those are movies, it's only for entertainment. My last day in this current company will be on April of 16th, 2010, which I have resigned. Life goes on. What I really need, is to get higher pay, money for my studies which I want to enrol in. Since I have been walking in this IT path, there is one part I love to do and being dreaming of since I was in secondary school. For those who know me during the secondary school, at SMK Dato Onn, you guys sure know what I did that time with the introduction of internet ( the trojan horse software thing, haha). *wink

Well, those are not the main point why I chose to post a blog today. Once in a while huh, that hurts sometimes ya? No one is reading your blog, because you're not an established blogger, and because you're blogging out to earn some money, popularity or attention or etc. The blogging trend is getting old fashion nowadays. People use facebook or twitter to update their current situation or experience in a blink. They can shout "Help me!" in it, and gain the whole world attention.

When a person get older, they realized time is getting less and less for the person. There are a lot of things to explore in the world. Why am I stuck in this place? Why am I here? Is one missing puzzle I need to find. For a person to build up his character and experience at just one place, is inadequate. Yes, inadequate. Our view is just as narrow as what we see in our own heart, we do not see what we do not see as the real thing out there; where things around the world are. We ought to believe what we read, but we do not know how to prove it. Egos holding the world of our heart desires, will bring me no where. We hear what people say, before we have even tried. Sometimes it's called, the phobia of failure, and that's the reason why we fail. This thought must be abolished!

The day when you're old and continue to be as an "Economic Outpatient Care", which means, continue to be subsidized by relatives for your own needs, will not help for a person growth. The side effect will be, immaturity and dependent. Once cut off from the subsidy, helplessness crawl into the person's life.

Some people who tend to keep people for their own agenda rather than helping a person to achieve the person dream, also will not help at all. If the dream can help the others, why not? When a person can breakthrough his or her own potential, why not? If a person has the character, why not? If the person is determine enough, why not? However, when they fail or discouraged, we should be the encouragement to support them and continuously provide the morale support, friendship, helping hands, and at times, financial support as well. Yes, who said finance is not important, but most importantly, are we willing to be vulnerable, or we are just trying to build a wall in our life? Being vulnerable takes great courage, and believe that everyone has a potential to grow rather than looking down a person, or afraid the person will hurt us. It is not easy, yet this is the standard of God. Being vulnerable, in terms of caring and support. But before being vulnerable, are you able to handle your own life, such as your finance, your life, etc etc?

I learned a lot while working two years in this company. Ya, he's a good boss, everyone will definitely agrees those who have worked with him before, he has a dream. I can see through his dream, to expand his company and to provide convenient services through software and etc. I too have dreams. Some dream have faded, such as being a pianist, or being a millionaire in business. And some dreams are my foundations why I keep pursuing. Working in IT line, hackers, opening a business (well, yeah, not to be a millionaire though). I used to dream become a presenter/host, because I like the thrill. Maybe I should try an audition for a spokeperson/host job.

Dreams. As long you have a dream, and your heart knows that is your dream, and that is what you want to become, there will be a lot of sacrifice to take. But personally, I think it's worth to pursue a dream, because that will build our character and make us stronger day by day to pursue it. (In the blameless way, of course).

Never give up. Time to move on.

These pictures are nice eh? I came through these pictures while searching for files in my Linux box. Seems nostalgic, you can't walk back the place the same time and exactly the same moment, it just passed. Seems like one year had already passed, like a sudden flash back of memories.

Looking back these pictures, the place is just so simple and nice. This is where those farmers live. We ate at the restaurant a few walking distant away from the village, nice food, but a lot of flies :P

2010 年，a lot of things need to be accomplished. 您知道什么叫"accomplishment" 吗？ Too much things happened in 2009, and want to get back track on 2010.

2009 is going to pass now. Feeling nostalgic, a lot of unexpected things have happened this year somehow, rather is up or down, but thank God for experiencing such.

For now, I'm aiming on 2010, of course the end of month of December 2009, something about money. (^_^)

Looking back through the resolution I set this year, I felt funny a bit, I remember I did two resolutions. First six months(supposing to be the whole year), and another six months.

For the first six months, I have put too much expectations on myself and some that isn't realistic as well, then I realized during June, so as the result, in June I came out another resolution, yet, removing something even like exercise. Supposingly I want to shape my body muscles, but it turns out the other way. Brr........

During this time, there are things that bothers me a lot, well it's not convenient for me to mention. So, the truth, it isn't about the resolution, it's about the character, and realization of my identity. It is not easy to be discipline, but discipline determines one character. I can't deny what I know I am right now, but I still decide to wake up and doing the right things, the only thing I haven't and wanted to do is, "to take a big leap".

Even I write the resolution for 2010, I have start to plan what I should do now. God bless.

Patience to Wait

Here I am, posting this blog-post during midnight around 1.30am. Just manage to get this page with new templates I have been thinking that is suitable.

Well, this post is definitely for talking about something that I have been waiting for (it's a liability anyway, but I still need it for some purpose). Many have asked this questions before, just want to get anything straight and everything in details.

I have rebated the car last three months ago (almost four months now), with my father's old Proton Saga. That day the road tax has expired, so can't renew the road tax anymore since because it's a father handling down to son's name for the car, which the rebate system will definitely need a proof of the car gar-ant, and all send these documents have been sent to the government office.

For two months, I forgot to sign the car loan agreement, therefore signed the agreement during October if I am not mistaken.

Then, alas, the center which the place ordered closed down and all the documents have been transferred to the northern region which me and my family have no clue about it. Wait ... wait ... wait... we do get the contact number, well, it's because they can't cut in their existing customer to give to the existing customer from the previous center. My ranking was around number 6 or 5 during that time.

Then last week, the person handled the car called, because of manual is have to wait longer but auto gear is currently in stock, and asked me whether I want to consider to take the auto gear, I told her I will give a call shortly. Pondering, I need to pay more, yet I don't want to, and my list is around number 2 now for the car, I choose to continue to wait.

The next day I tried Googling whether the Proton Saga BLM manual gear is out of stock by the public forum. Guess what? Most customers who ordered the BLM go for manual gear, and some center of the Proton said manual gear out of stock, so have to wait. Here's the link : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1227450

I have been out of the blogosphere for such a long time. Well, to think of it, I need to change my perspective and the purposes of this blog continue to exist. Well, not only this blog has a new look, so do my Ubuntu (OS).

It' have been two months, I have rebated my old and faithful white "Proton Saga", ahem, excuse me, not Potong Saga. Recently just found out, I didn't land my signature onto the car loan documents.... well.... Still, best thing come in last isn't it?

Couldn't post the picture yet, when I have it, I'll post it here. It's under B-Line, that's why the side mirror is black.

Many has come to know the site because of it's exclusive intro of Namewee as the main actor in Potong Saga.

Haha. Funny though, but do remember they do not only have only this video. It is a work of 15 directors from Malaysia, including one of respected director who have recently passed away which directed the "Chocolate" short film. Every two days they will upload another new short film.
